Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs beef bones (marrow or knuckle)
- 2 medium onions, quartered
- 3 large carrots, chopped
- 3 stalks celery, chopped
- 4 garlic cloves, crushed
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 12 cups filtered water
Instructions
- Prepare Your Ingredients: Rinse the beef bones under cold water to remove impurities. Chop the onions, carrots, and celery into large pieces.
- Roast the Bones (Optional but Recommended): Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the bones on a baking sheet and roast for about 30 minutes until browned for deeper flavor.
- Load Your Instant Pot: Transfer the roasted bones to the Instant Pot. Add chopped vegetables and crushed garlic. Pour in apple cider vinegar and fill with filtered water until all ingredients are submerged.
- Set It and Forget It: Close the lid and set the Instant Pot to high pressure for 120 minutes. Allow natural pressure release afterward.
- Strain Your Broth: Once cooled, strain out solid ingredients using a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth. Discard vegetable scraps.
- Store Your Liquid Gold: Let broth cool completely before transferring to jars or freezer-safe containers. Store in the fridge for up to five days or freeze for future use.
