Description
Instant Pot Flank Steak Tacos are a quick and flavorful meal, featuring tender steak, fresh toppings, and warm tortillas—perfect for any weeknight dinner or gathering.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs flank steak
- 1 yellow onion, thinly sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp taco seasoning
- 1 cup beef broth
- 8 soft corn or flour tortillas
- Fresh cilantro, for garnish
- Lime wedges, for serving
Instructions
- 1. Prepare the Steak: Cut the flank steak into smaller chunks. Pat dry and season liberally with taco seasoning on all sides.
- 2. Sauté Onions and Garlic: Set your Instant Pot to 'Sauté' mode. Add a splash of olive oil and sauté the sliced onions until translucent. Stir in minced garlic and cook for about one minute until fragrant.
- 3. Brown the Steak: Add the seasoned flank steak pieces to the pot with the onions and garlic. Sear on all sides until browned.
- 4. Pressure Cook: Pour in beef broth to deglaze the pot, scraping up any bits stuck to the bottom. Close the lid and set to 'Pressure Cook' on high for about 25 minutes.
- 5. Natural Release: After cooking, let it naturally release pressure for about ten minutes before quick releasing any remaining steam.
- 6. Shred and Serve: Use two forks to shred the flank steak inside the pot. Serve warm in tortillas topped with fresh cilantro and a squeeze of lime juice.
