Description

Indulge in the delightful combination of buttery cookies filled with rich chocolate, perfect for any gathering or cozy afternoon at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour and chopped pecans until well combined.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2 minutes).
  4. Add the egg yolk and vanilla extract to the creamed mixture; mix until fully combined.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring just until combined.
  6. Portion out small balls of dough (about 1 inch in diameter) onto parchment-lined baking sheets.
  7. Using your thumb, gently press into each ball to create an indentation.
  8. Bake for about 10 minutes until lightly golden around the edges but still soft in the center.
  9. Remove from the oven and immediately fill each thumbprint with semi-sweet chocolate chips while they are hot, allowing them to melt.
  10. Allow cookies to cool slightly before transferring them to plates.
