  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 2 tsp dried basil
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water and active dry yeast. Let sit for about five minutes until foamy.
  2. In another bowl, mix flour and salt.
  3. Add olive oil and garlic powder to the yeast mixture once frothy. Gradually stir in the flour mixture until a dough forms.
  4. Transfer dough onto a floured surface and knead for about eight minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place kneaded dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm area for about one hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle.
  7. Evenly sprinkle dried oregano and basil over the surface, then layer shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese on top.
  8. Starting from one edge, tightly roll up the dough into a log shape. Pinch seams closed and twist gently to create swirls.
  9. Place loaf into a greased loaf pan. Cover with a towel and let rise for another thirty minutes while preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  10. Bake for about thirty-five minutes or until golden brown on top. Allow to cool slightly before slicing.
