Spiced lamb kofta with pomegranate sauce is a vibrant dish that combines tender, spiced ground lamb with a tangy, sweet sauce, perfect for any gathering or cozy dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground lamb
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint, chopped
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 2 tsp coriander
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup pomegranate molasses
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground lamb, onion, garlic, cilantro, mint, cumin, coriander, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly.
  3. Shape the mixture into small oval patties or logs.
  4. Place the koftas on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until browned and cooked through.
  5. While the koftas are baking, whisk together pomegranate molasses and Greek yogurt in a small bowl until smooth. Adjust seasoning as needed.
