- 200g mixed mushrooms (fresh, chopped)
- 2 tbsp fresh thyme (chopped)
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 egg (beaten with a splash of water for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Dice the mixed game meats into bite-sized pieces.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add oil and sauté the chopped onion until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add the mushrooms and cook until tender and their moisture has evaporated.
- Stir in the diced game meats along with fresh herbs. Season generously with salt and pepper. Cook until browned all over, approximately 8 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly before transferring the mixture into a pie dish lined with puff pastry.
- Roll out another sheet of puff pastry on a floured surface for the top crust.
- Carefully place it over the filled pie dish and seal edges by pinching or using a fork.
- Brush the top with egg wash and make small slits in the crust for steam to escape.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 45-50 minutes until golden brown.
