Description

A warm, spiced delight perfect for cozy gatherings, this soft bread pulls apart easily, making it a beloved treat for family and friends.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let sit for about five minutes until frothy. Stir in melted butter, sugar, eggs, and pumpkin puree until well mixed.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Gradually add to wet ingredients while stirring until a slightly sticky dough forms.
  3. Knead Dough: Lightly flour your work surface and turn out the dough. Knead gently for about five minutes until smooth. Place back in the bowl, cover with a cloth, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about one hour).
  4. Shape Your Bread: Once risen, punch down the dough and roll into a rectangle. Cut into strips approximately two inches wide and stack them before placing them into a greased bundt pan.
  5. Final Rise: Cover the assembled dough again with a cloth and let rise for an additional thirty minutes while preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Bake: Bake in the oven for about thirty-five minutes or until golden brown on top. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
