- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (cold)
- 1 cup dark chocolate (70% cocoa)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup hazelnuts (roasted and chopped)
Instructions
- 1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a tart pan with non-stick spray or butter.
- 2. In a medium bowl, mix together flour and sugar.
- 3. Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- 4. Press the mixture evenly into the bottom and sides of the tart pan.
- 5. Bake for 10 minutes until lightly golden. Let cool.
- 6. In a heatproof bowl over simmering water, melt together dark chocolate and butter until smooth, stirring occasionally.
- 7. Remove from heat and whisk in sugar until well combined.
- 8. Add eggs one at a time, whisking vigorously after each addition.
- 9. Stir in vanilla extract and half of the chopped hazelnuts.
- 10. Pour filling into the cooled crust and sprinkle remaining hazelnuts on top.
- 11. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until set but slightly wobbly in the center.
- 12. Allow to cool on a wire rack before slicing.
