Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (cold)
  • 1 cup dark chocolate (70% cocoa)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup hazelnuts (roasted and chopped)

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a tart pan with non-stick spray or butter.
  2. 2. In a medium bowl, mix together flour and sugar.
  3. 3. Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. 4. Press the mixture evenly into the bottom and sides of the tart pan.
  5. 5. Bake for 10 minutes until lightly golden. Let cool.
  6. 6. In a heatproof bowl over simmering water, melt together dark chocolate and butter until smooth, stirring occasionally.
  7. 7. Remove from heat and whisk in sugar until well combined.
  8. 8. Add eggs one at a time, whisking vigorously after each addition.
  9. 9. Stir in vanilla extract and half of the chopped hazelnuts.
  10. 10. Pour filling into the cooled crust and sprinkle remaining hazelnuts on top.
