Description
Cinnamon Swirl Focaccia is a soft, fluffy bread infused with warm cinnamon and sweet brown sugar, making it perfect for breakfast or an indulgent snack.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp active dry yeast
- 1 ½ cups warm water (around 110°F or 43°C)
- ¼ cup olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- ½ cup brown sugar
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water and active dry yeast. Let sit for about five minutes until frothy.
- Stir in olive oil and salt. Gradually mix in the flour until a shaggy dough forms.
- Lightly flour your countertop and knead the dough for about ten minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm spot until doubled in size (about one hour).
- Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle on a floured surface.
- Evenly sprinkle cinnamon and brown sugar over the dough.
- Roll tightly from one long side to form a log, then coil it into itself like a snail.
- Place the coiled dough into an oiled baking dish or parchment-lined baking sheet. Press dimples into the top with your fingers.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) while letting the dough proof again for about half an hour.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
