Description

Cinnamon Swirl Focaccia is a soft, fluffy bread infused with warm cinnamon and sweet brown sugar, making it perfect for breakfast or an indulgent snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 ½ cups warm water (around 110°F or 43°C)
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup brown sugar

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water and active dry yeast. Let sit for about five minutes until frothy.
  2. Stir in olive oil and salt. Gradually mix in the flour until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Lightly flour your countertop and knead the dough for about ten minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the kneaded dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm spot until doubled in size (about one hour).
  5. Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle on a floured surface.
  6. Evenly sprinkle cinnamon and brown sugar over the dough.
  7. Roll tightly from one long side to form a log, then coil it into itself like a snail.
  8. Place the coiled dough into an oiled baking dish or parchment-lined baking sheet. Press dimples into the top with your fingers.
  9. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) while letting the dough proof again for about half an hour.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
