  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup whole milk, warmed

  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm milk with granulated sugar and active dry yeast. Let sit for about five minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture along with melted butter. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about five minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm spot until doubled in size, about one hour.
  5. After rising, punch down the dough gently and roll it out into a rectangle.
  6. Brush melted butter over the dough and sprinkle evenly with brown sugar and ground cinnamon before rolling it up tightly.
  7. Transfer the rolled dough to an oiled baking pan and press down gently to flatten slightly. Allow it to rise again while preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  8. Bake for about 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. For icing, mix powdered sugar with milk until smooth; drizzle over warm bread after baking. Slice into squares and serve.
