- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup heavy cream, chilled
- 1/2 cup hazelnut spread
- 1/4 cup chopped hazelnuts, toasted
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, and baking powder.
- In another bowl, beat eggs with vanilla extract until fluffy. Gradually combine both mixtures until smooth.
- Pour batter onto the prepared baking sheet and spread evenly. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Once baked, immediately invert the cake onto a clean kitchen towel sprinkled with powdered sugar. Carefully peel off parchment paper.
- While still warm, roll up the cake tightly in the towel from one short end to another and let it cool completely.
- Whip heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gently fold in hazelnut spread until fully combined.
- Unroll your cooled cake and spread this filling evenly over it.
- Roll the cake back up tightly without the towel this time. Place seam-side down on a serving platter and chill in refrigerator for about an hour before decorating.
