Description

Candy Cane Pizza Twists are a whimsical holiday treat combining gooey cheese and a hint of peppermint, all twisted into festive shapes. Perfect for gatherings and fun to make!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tsp peppermint extract
  • Red food coloring (gel)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface into a rectangle about half an inch thick.
  3. Evenly sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the dough. Drizzle peppermint extract across the cheese, being cautious not to overdo it.
  4. In a bowl, mix red food coloring with a few tablespoons of water, then brush it onto one half of the dough rectangle.
  5. Starting from one end, roll the dough tightly into a log and cut it in half lengthwise to reveal the layers. Twist the two halves together gently to form a candy cane shape.
  6. Place your twisted dough on the prepared baking sheet, brush with egg wash for a golden finish, and bake for 15-20 minutes or until puffed up and golden brown.
