- 1 cup water
- 1 cup dark chocolate (70% cocoa or higher)
Instructions
- Wash and slice the oranges and lemons into thin rounds, about 1/4 inch thick. Remove any seeds.
- In a medium saucepan, combine water and sugar. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely.
- Gently add the citrus slices to the syrup and let them simmer for about 45 minutes until they become translucent and tender.
- Once done, remove the slices from the syrup using tongs and place them on a wire rack to dry completely (1 hour to overnight).
- Melt the dark chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl or double boiler until smooth.
- Dip each dried citrus slice into the melted chocolate, ensuring an even coating.
- Place the coated slices on parchment paper or back on the wire rack to set. Chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
