Description

Experience the delightful fusion of caramelized apples and crunchy hazelnuts beneath a flaky pastry crust in this irresistible dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and sliced into wedges
  • 1 cup lightly toasted hazelnuts, coarsely chopped
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add 1/4 cup of sugar and let it bubble.
  3. Add apple wedges to the skillet and cook for about 5 minutes until they turn golden brown.
  4. Toss in the chopped hazelnuts and cinnamon; stir gently to combine.
  5. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and place it over the apple mixture in the skillet. Trim any excess pastry around the edges.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool for a few minutes before flipping onto a serving plate. Dust with powdered sugar if desired and serve warm.
