Description

Delight in the Tuxedo Bar Cake, a stunning dessert that showcases rich chocolate layers and creamy frosting, perfect for any celebration.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup whole milk (or almond milk)
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup chocolate ganache (made from chocolate and cream)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two round cake pans with nonstick spray and line with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and sugar until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, cream together unsalted butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about five minutes).
  4. Add eggs one at a time to the creamed mixture while mixing on low speed. Stir in vanilla extract for added flavor.
  5. Gradually mix in milk until smooth, then fold in the dry ingredient mixture until no lumps remain.
  6. Divide batter evenly between prepared pans and bake for approximately 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool completely before frosting.
  7. In a mixing bowl, whip heavy cream until soft peaks form; gradually add powdered sugar and continue whipping until stiff peaks form.
  8. Assemble the cake by placing one layer on a serving plate, spreading frosting on top, then adding the second layer. Top with chocolate ganache.
