Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.
- Cut in chilled butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Gradually add ice water, mixing until dough forms.
- Shape into a disk, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Boil diced potatoes in salted water until fork-tender, about 15 minutes; drain and mash.
- In a skillet over medium heat, sauté chopped onion until translucent.
- Add ground beef to the skillet; cook until browned, breaking up clumps (about 10-12 minutes).
- Stir in salt, pepper, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves; mix well.
- Fold in mashed potatoes until combined.
- Roll out half of the chilled dough on a floured surface; fit it into a greased pie pan.
- Spoon in the meat filling evenly.
- Roll out the second half of the dough and place it over the filling; crimp edges to seal.
- Cut slits on top for ventilation.
- Bake for about 45-50 minutes or until golden brown.
