- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 5 oz dark chocolate, melted
- Powdered sugar (to taste)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a jelly roll pan (15×10 inches) and line it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat eggs until thick and lemon-colored. Gradually add melted butter and mix well.
- Combine both mixtures until smooth.
- Spread the batter evenly onto the prepared pan and bake for about 12-15 minutes or until it springs back when lightly touched.
- Once baked, place a clean kitchen towel over the cake and carefully flip it onto the towel. Peel off parchment paper.
- Starting from one end, roll up the cake tightly using the towel. Allow it to cool completely.
- While cooling, whip heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gently fold in melted dark chocolate until combined.
- Unroll your cooled cake carefully and spread an even layer of filling over it.
- Roll it back up without the towel this time, placing seam side down on a serving platter.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
